Express FC Registers First League Win

Express FC, also known as the Red Eagles finally get a victory in the 2018/19 Startimes Uganda Premier League., with a 3-1 win over Police FC.

Express’ first goal was scored as early as in the 9th minute of the game by Tony Odur, courtesy of a beautiful pass from his captain, Julius Ntambi.

The other goal came in the 38th minute as Odur crossed the ball from the right wing, only for Kayiwa Ibrahim to brilliantly tap into the net.

In the 57th minute, pressure mounted on Express FC leading to an own goal from Arthur Kiggundu.

But the Red Eagles sealed their victory in the 80th minute with a brilliant strike from Micheal Mubiru.

The win brings Express FC up to sixth position on the table standings.

Odur who scored the first goal attributed the win to the determination within the team.  "We have not been all that good on pitch but the way we were determined enabled us gain victory at the end," Odur told journalism@mak.

"I thank our supporters who have come and supported us in the struggle. I also thank my team mates who cooperated on the pitch and grabbed all the three points," said Julius Ntambi, the Express captain.

In the next fixture, the Red Eagles host Bull FC at her home ground, Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Tuesday 23rd October, 2018.

Express FC had previously only managed a draw against URA FC and was beaten by Mbarara City, since the league started.
