Makerere University students and workers will have to wait for two days to get pumped water, the estates and works department has said.

The Estates director, Fred Nuwagaba, according to a communique we have accessed, today morning informed other departments at Makerere that the water in the plant that supplies the campus is being treated.

"The University will experince water shortage as a result of a planned shutdown at Gaba 2 water treatment plant to enable national water and sewerage (NWSC) corperation complete final interconnection works to add 50 million litres per day to Kampala service area,"reads the letter in part.

He added: "The water shortage is anticipated to affect the campus on Thursday 15 September 2016 and Friday 16 September 2016. We expect you to stay calm and use the available water sparingly."
