Kampala City Council Authority FC have gone back to their winning ways after edging SC Villa 2-3 at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole. The yellow boys looked more determined and focused on the pitch, although they had strong resistance from the home side.

Albert Mugisha opened the scoring race in the first half of the game putting SC Villa in the driving seat in just fourteen minutes of playing time. Julius Poloto levelled up matters for the visitors twenty-four minutes later after Mugisha's strike. The visitors maintained possession after the equalizer and it was not so long before their attempts yielded fruits.

The home side center back Manco Kaweesi turned the ball in the back of his own net at the thirty-eighth minute mark. The visitors reduced pressure against the hosts and they had to be punished for it in the closing moments of halftime as Mutunda Bashir tapped home in the 45th minute.

Unlike the first half of the game, the second half had less action to offer especially after KCCA made it 2-3 in the 60th minute when Jackson Nunfa finished off wonderfully to finally give the visitors a lead and win.

KCCA manager Mike Mutebi says that the team needed to recover from the draw they shared with former champions Vipers FC at the St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

"This win has been very important because we drew with Vipers so we needed a win," he told the media.

The defeat leaves SC Villa still winless in the campaign with only three points. Interim manager at the side Moses Basena says that the club will need to win their next games if they to regain momentum this season.

Villa will travel to Soana FC in their next league game as the club still awaits its first win in top flight football this season. Meanwhile, KCCA FC will entertain struggling side Nyamityobora at the Startimes Arena in Lugogo in the next fixture.
