University hall and Mary Stuart win swimming contest

University and Mary Stuart halls have emerged this year’s inter-hall swimming competition champions. University hall beat their closest contenders, Lumumba by 8 points while Mary Stuart hall beat off competition from Africa, their closest rival by 12 points while Complex hall trailed with 15 points.
The contest involved six halls for the males and the 3 females’ halls. However, Nsibirwa hall never sent any swimmer to the competition.
The events included free style, butterfly and backstroke.
The three day annual event was oragnised by the Makerere’s department of sports and recreation. University Hall and Mary Stuart halls will receive their trophies at the Sportsman dinner due in May 2014.
