The show was supposed to begin at 5pm but the clouds began splashing millimeters of rains as early as 2pm. Most people were unable to brave the mud, the cold and the subsequent drizzles. Nonetheless, some valiant ones could not afford to miss. By 6:30, the Main hall was boasting of praises and worship from Christians who had come to attend the Annual Music Gala. But these were not without coldness in the praise mood until the emcee called Jackie Senyonjo on stage. Her Neetaga gwe hit raised the congregation who joined as they sang along.

Her performance prompted one of her male fans into exclamations thus, “This babe is so hot. I must make the first move.” Overhearing this, I could not help but wish him good luck.
The Sunday 10th November event attracted choirs from major fellowships including; Nkrusi-view, Lumbox, Afrostone, Mitchelex as well as the Main Christian Union Choir. These, in their attractive and well-blending uniforms, fired up the congregation.

The Alumni, who had in the past galas specialized in delivering speeches and introducing themselves, had a new innovation in the delivery of their message. They gave a surprise musical presentation that was not only comical but also rich in message. The presentation left the congregation with no option but to lift their chairs as they cheered.

As if to emphasize the meaning of the term musical gala, the event saw no preaching except through music. This was not because there were no pastors (of course they were there) but because it was a music gala and not a sermons gala.

The Main Christian Union Choir had the opportunity to do the final presentations that served as the sign-out prayer. Their hit I Know Who I am whose climax hit the clock at 10:30pm was a bye-bye song for the Christians that were now excited, lively and feeling hot despite the chilly weather.

The annual event brings together different fellowships and Christians to share and enjoy music. It is organized by Makerere University’s St Francis Chapel. In the preceding years, it took place at the Chapel.
