Students using the newly constructed Central Teaching Facilities in Makerere University will write on their laps untill next year, when the writing tables will be procured.

The University's publicist, Rita Namisango says no major changes will take place in the facilities until next year when they are officially handed over to the University. Reports inidcate that the buildings are still under the Ministry of Education. 

With no fly over, traffic lights or a zebra crossing, Sir Apollo Kagwa road is turning out an accident hub as Makerere University students remain at a higher risk of losing lives to accidents.

Kikoni, a Kampala suburb houses a big number of Makerere University students who either sleep in rentals or hostels in the area.

The Makerere University main gate will remain open, despite works ongoing to finish its construction. The University's Public Relations Officer, Ritah Namisango says the partial opening was in response to requests from the students and employees of the university.
