Arts Lecture Room 6 in a Miserable Condition

 

The state of Arts Lecture Room 6 is worrying the students who study there, owing to the renovation works there. The room located on the second floor of the Arts Building near the History Department has broken and disorganized furniture, and dirty walls scattered with posters of former aspirants in the just-concluded student elections.

It also has broken windows and damaged ceiling which put students, lectures and other users’ lives at risk.

Makerere Staff to Run Mary Stuart Canteens

Makerere University is seeking service providers to run two canteens at Mary Stuart Hall.

The canteens at the biggest female hall of residence have been closed since May, when a fire outbreak destroyed property including the canteens on the first floor of the building. Since then the building has been undergoing renovations.

The university administration has come up with a new bidding requirement for possible service providers which requires that a staff member owns the canteen and thus rendering the previous service providers ineligible.

Are suspensions in Makerere necessary?

MAKERERE - Makerere University Councilor condemns intimidation of university students by the university administration. Doreen Nyanjura expressed her discontent with the Vice Chancellor’s decision to block avenues for dialogue with students, resorting to intimidation.
